Summer Plans

As the weather gets warmer we are excited to be planning some great European trips for the summer before we head to the US.   This weekend we'll be trying out camping with Nora (if the rain holds off) near Balaton Lake in Hungary and seeing the sights in Budapest over the long weekend.   Later in May we'll be going on a week-long road trip to Croatia and Bosnia.  I don't think many Americans realize what a beautiful place these two countries are or understand why they would make desirable vacation destinations... and understandably so after seeing the war footage coming out of that region in the 1990's.   But this area of Southern Europe was a popular vacation destination for Europeans and continues to attract many visitors today.  Most of the infrastructure has been rebuilt, resorts along the Adriatic Sea have reopened, and the famous bridge in Mostar, Bosnia has been restored from the rubble. I am very interested to get a look at the culture and landscape of these countries and enjoy a little relaxation at the many beaches!
